This is my 4th time reading Janette Oke's "Love Comes Softly" series. I began reading her paperback books in my 20's (I am now 60) as I was lucky enough to find them at my local Christian book store. I love the wholesome, easy to read style she has. "Love Comes Softly" is my favorite series followed by the Canadian West series. I am glad she has made them available for Kindle download as the light keeps my husband awake if I read the paper backs.

I real enjoy reading this book. I looking forward to the next book. I think reading book is more exticed.
Oh, how I look forward tothe next installment of the love series... the lives of these folks are so interwoven you can’t stop reading....
The "Love Comes Softly" Series by Janette Oke has been hard to put down! I'm reading them on my kindle and enjoying each chapter as the characters evolve through the years. The Bible and Christian faith are always present and truly affirming through joys, hardships, celebrations, and each passing day! "Love's Abiding Joy" was maybe my favorite, so far! Can't wait to start Series #5 to see what happens next!!
Janette Oke is one of my favorite authors. I have seen the movie many times and just wanted to read the book. It is great and well worth reading, so many more details than the movie.
I love this entire series, and this one, detailing Marty and Clark’s journey west from their farm to visit their grown daughter Missy, and her growing family-is heartwarming. There are many life lessons and encouraging sweet promises tucked away in this book. I have read it many times, and though the pages of my paperback copy are worn, I have a kindle edition as well to enjoy. Worth every one of the five stars possible! Enjoy.
Janette Oke is the consummate "lady.". her stories are set in her authentic period of the Canadian Rockies and masterfully weave the reality of this period with the spiritual side that was such a part of this era. People were respected for their kept word, their promises and their values. These consisted of a deep faith that transcended hardships which were "a plenty'". But the real reason I love this AUTHORESS is her pure spirit of love in the relationships she has created between her male and female characters. These are books to inspire the young reader and keep bringing pleasure to a repeat reader who wishes just to come back to the beautiful experience of her words, her depiction of the beautiful Canadian scenery, and most of all her sincere and caring relationships between the young men and women who encounter each other in the wilderness territory.
It is so refreshing to read a book from an author who is able to tell a story without profanity, with excitement and heart wrenching sorrow, with God centered families and love. It opened my eyes to the hardships faced by the brave people who settled our country and how hard they worked to succeed. Really a great book. It’s a wonderful series, but could easily be a great stand alone book.
